The investigation later identified a man as a suspect in the quadruple shooting. The three men in the suspect vehicle immediately exited the vehicle after the crash. Chief Craig says police now believe at least one of the other two men involved in the chase on July 23 may have been involved in the quadruple shooting on July 19. Police also believe that the man who was shot who was suspected in the quadruple shooting may have been involved in other shootings, including one in Eastpointe.

According to authorities, the teens were sitting in the vehicle at about 6:45 p.m. when another vehicle drove up and an occupant started shooting. Two victims, ages 15 and 17, were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The other two, ages 15 and 17, were taken in temporary serious condition.
