After the Tigers posted 17-13 and 11-5 wins at PNC Park, the finale turned into a pitching duel. He also could be seen talking to himself between pitches at time, reminiscent of former Tigers pitcher Mark The Bird Fidrych. Pirates: Evans will miss the remainder of the season after being injured in a collision with RF Gregory Polanco on Saturday. DETROIT The Detroit Tigers and Cincinnati Reds were set to play Major League Baseball's first doubleheader scheduled for seven-inning games on Sunday in order to make up a rainout. The game never got started and was called after a 55-minute wait, angering Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer. Minor leagues have previously had the option of shortening one or both games of a doubleheader to seven scheduled innings.
