Randazzo Dance Company -- formerly the Ypsilanti Area Dancers -- will be performing the holiday classic The Nutcracker at University of Michigans Power Center on Dec. 21 and 22.
About Randazzo Dance CompanyYpsilanti Area Dancers was founded in 1969 by Marjorie Randazzo, Ruth Deake, Suzanne Buck and Madge Davidson.
In 2013 the company changed its name to Randazzo Dance Company, continuing under the artistic direction of Sara Randazzo and Roya Panahi.
Randazzo Dance Company has provided hundreds of dance scholarships to local youth for summer intensive dance programs, and offers master classes and performance opportunities for local dancers.
Many former members have continued their careers professionally with companies such as National Ballet of Canada, Royal Winnipeg ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Ballet Austin, Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet Tucson, and have performed in numerous shows on Broadway.
