They are wanted in Japan for allegedly helping Ghosn flee to Lebanon in December, jumping bail while he was awaiting trial on financial misconduct charges. Prosecutors say Ghosn broke the law by violating bail conditions that required him to stay in Japan, mostly at his Tokyo home. Authorities say the Taylors helped sneak Ghosn out of the Japan on a private jet with the former Nissan boss tucked away in a large box.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Hassink said Japan plans as quickly as possible to submit a formal request to extradite the Taylors. At their arrival, Taylor and Zayek, his Lebanese-born colleague, told airport employees they were musicians carrying audio equipment. The elder Taylor and Zayek joined after a brief stop to rent a separate room near the airport. Authorities say Ghosn was inside one of the big black boxes, lugged by the two men to Japans Kansai International Airport, authorities said. STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – With testing for active coronavirus becoming more readily available, there’s a new push for antibody testing as well. Cities, organizations and employers can request the team to visit; Wednesday they were in Sterling Heights testing essential workers. “What this testing will do is give us a better sense of how many people have been infected by the virus,” said Sterling Heights mayor Michael Taylor. “Maybe there’s an ability to donate blood and plasma to help other people if we were exposed to it,” he said. Again, this testing is being done and paid for by the Wayne State Physicians Group, ACCESS and Ford.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A synthetic ice skating rink, art installations, food trucks and a pop-up shop market are anticipated to come to Lakeside Mall. “We are thrilled to be bringing an ice-skating rink to Lakeside,” said Jerry Weller, Mall Manager, in a statement. In late spring, Lakeside’s first food truck and pop-up shop market will be installed. A variety of Sterling Heights’ and Detroit’s top food vendors will be available alongside merchandise by local artists. STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Lakeside Mall is one of the largest malls in the state and Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor said it could be getting better. “It’s just really a concrete step in the right direction. Recently, Miami-based developer Out of the Box Ventures bought the property and is now the new owner of the mall. “It’s been in limbo for quite a while, so this is a great step in the right direction,” Taylor said. But with the new sale complete, Lakeside Mall’s new owners say it’s not over just yet.
