Michigan is facing a nearly $4 billion shortfall in annual funding to fix its roads and bridges, according to a newly released report on the state’s infrastructure.

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) announced $30 million in rail infrastructure funding for Michigan. The Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant program awarded $368 million to 46 projects across 32 states and Michigan’s projects were selected.

President Joe Biden will be in Detroit on Wednesday to discuss the infrastructure plan.

The Biden administration has announced how funding from the American Jobs Plan will go toward infrastructure improvements in each state across the country -- including in Michigan, where infrastructure has been graded at a “D+.”
