On the heels of Hulu's announcement of a Tyson miniseries to be made without his involvement, the boxing great said he's producing a limited series starring Jamie Foxx. Filmmaker Martin Scorsese and Foxx also are among the producers. Last month, Hulu said it had ordered the eight-episode series โIron Mike,โ saying it would explore the โthe wild, tragic and controversial life and careerโ of a polarizing athlete.

Tyson, who is not involved in the project, criticized Hulu on social media, saying the series smacked of insensitivity. โHuluโs announcement to do an unauthorized mini-series of the Tyson story without compensation, although unfortunate, isnโt surprising,โ Tyson said in an Instagram post. The eight-episode โIron Mikeโ is from the makers of โI, Tonya,โ the 2017 movie that starred Margot Robbie as ice skater Tonya Harding.

Nicknamed โThe Kansas Cometโ and considered among the best open-field runners the game has ever seen, Sayers died Wednesday, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He earned his place as a first-ballot Hall of Famer.โA football and track star at Omaha Central High School in Nebraska, Sayers was a two-time All-American at Kansas and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. โI played football a long time and I never saw a better football player than Gale Sayers,โ said Hall of Fame tight end Mike Ditka, Sayersโ teammate from 1965-66. In presenting him at the ceremony, Bears founder George Halas said: โIf you wish to see perfection as a running back, you had best get a hold of a film of Gale Sayers.
