The Lions acquired Griffen from Dallas in October and he has 2 1/2 sacks and three passes defended in five games. Running backs Matt Breida (COVID-19 list) and Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) were already sidelined.

They fired general manager Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia while elevating Bevell, their offensive coordinator, to interim coach. But the Lions turned things around down the stretch, sending the Bears (5-7) to their sixth straight loss. The Lions came out on top after losing four of five, and Stafford gave Bevell the game ball.

The Falcons surrendered a 16-point advantage in the final 6 1/2 minutes to the Chicago Bears, who got three touchdown passes from backup quarterback Nick Foles and pulled out a 30-26 win on Sunday. It would have seemed downright improbable — if it hadn't happened for the second week in a row. The former Super Bowl MVP won it with a 28-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Miller with 1:53 remaining. He tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Graham to make it 26-16 with 6:20 to go. But Foles got his chance after Trubisky threw an interception in the third quarter that led to a Falcons field goal, pushing the lead to 26-10.

Earlier in the game, Bucs cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting was ruled out with a groin/hamstring injury. Brady threw two touchdown passes to Mike Evans along with another to Chris Godwin. Golladay missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury and Detroit has missed his production. Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears finally gave their frustrated fans something to celebrate. Trubisky tied a season high with three touchdown passes, and the Bears withstood a late charge by Detroit with Jeff Driskel filling in for injured quarterback Matthew Stafford, beating the Lions 20-13 on Sunday. STAFFORD SITSPatricia said the Lions decided Sunday not to play Stafford. He described his quarterback as "day by day, week by week" and wouldn't get into specifics about the injury. Matt Prater kicked two field goals for the Lions, who dropped their third straight against Chicago after winning nine of 10.
