Known as "The Great Moon Hoax," the series of six articles were supposedly reprinted from the Edinburgh Journal of Science. Grant claimed Herschel found evidence of life forms on the moon, including the discovery of unicorns, two-legged beavers, winged humanoids, rushing rivers and lush vegetation. Sales for the paper skyrocketed after the hoax was published, despite the fact that none of it was true.
