Lanez is accused of shooting at Megan Thee Stallion's feet, hitting her, after she left a SUV during a fight in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, according to a release. The complaint states Lanez โinflicted great bodily injuryโ on Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez, a 27-year-old Canadian rapper and singer whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is due to be arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles. At the time of the shooting, Megan Thee Stallion was already a major hip-hop star following a triumphant year that saw her nominated for artist of the year at the MTV Video Music Awards.

There are more than 80 Michigan venues that are a part of NIVA, most are in Metro Detroit. These independent venues asked the federal government for assistance and didnโt receive any. NIVA said it needs about $10 million for the more than 80 independent venues across the state to stay afloat.

Sponge, which has been performing since the 1990s, usually plays for a benefit concert at St. Andrews Hall every year. In lieu of the usual performance, the band is working with other local musicians to develop a fundraiser record album -- a vinyl record. Sponge lead singer Vin Dombroski, said six Detroit bands and artists are contributing to the album. โWe know that the pandemic has affected the music community more than any other industry, so the fact these musicians were committed to coming together and helping the Pope Francis center means the world to us,โ said Chris Harthen with Pope Francis Shelter.

A Go Fund Me campaign has launched to support musicians, with Oakland County planning to match every dollar raised. But you cant take t-shirts back, cant take CDs back, so were kind of tied up, said Pauly Brady with Stone Clover Band. The Stone Clover Band will be performing and raising money to help out with costs and bills that have been piling up. Theyre also doing art shows by appointment and sending food trucks into Oakland County neighborhoods.
