CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An 18-year-old man has been arrested by the Chesterfield Township Police Department Wednesday on suspicion of multiple drive-by shootings. According to authorities, Christian Koussa is charged with discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, a felony charge. Police said on Sept. 12, multiple homes were randomly targeted in drive-by shootings in an area near Donner Road and I-94. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years imprisonment. A court in Macomb County is trying to get things back on track and keep its juries safe. The cases inside Judge Bill Hackel’s New Baltimore courtroom haven’t changed during the pandemic, but the interaction have. But jury trials haven’t happened since the pandemic began. Hackel wants jury trials back because he said video doesn’t cut it and that jurors need to see the subtleties of how a defendant or witness acts. In addition to a jury box with protective plexiglass, the jury room has been moved to a larger space to encourage social distancing.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Tuesday afternoon in Cottrelville Township in St. Clair County. Four people died when two SUVs collided at the corner of Broadbridge and Starville roads. The collision sent both vehicles off the road. Its believed that a man and woman were in one vehicle and two men were in the other. Three victims died at the scene and the fourth died at a hospital.

NEW BALTIMORE, Mich. – Police are investigating after a large flag mounted to the front of a New Baltimore resident’s home was set on fire, according to authorities. New Baltimore police received the call around 8:25 p.m. Wednesday from a home in the 36500 block of St. Clair Drive. A homeowner told police someone had set a large nylon flag on fire while it was mounted to the front of the home. He stopped, got out of his car, pulled the burning flag down and extinguished the flames, according to authorities. Officers believe the suspect might have gotten into a waiting vehicle at that location.

CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A teenager was arrested over the weekend minutes after stealing a bicycle from a garage in Chesterfield Township, police said. Steven Brenton, 17, of Port Huron, stole a bicycle from a garage attached to a home in the area of 23 Mile and Baker roads around 7 p.m. Sunday, according to authorities. A K-9 unit and officers from Chesterfield Township and New Baltimore tracked Brenton to the area of Huntley Avenue and Rivard Street in New Baltimore, where he was taken into custody, according to authorities. Brent was arraigned Monday at 42-2 District Court on a charge of felony home invasion. He is being held at the Macomb County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

This now viral video was taken over the weekend and led to a Macomb County man being arrested and charged. You can see the boat intentionally rams another boat. Police say the boater in the video is 39-year-old Timothy Kennedy, of New Baltimore. He's charged with operating while intoxicated and malicious destruction of property.
