Part of 8 Mile Road in Oakland County is closed this week for infrastructure work that’s been ongoing in the area.

Police said they have arrested the driver suspected of striking and seriously injuring a 15-year-old girl who was walking to school in Westland.

Drivers are being asked to avoid part of Newburgh Road in Westland on Thursday morning due to a car crash that occurred in the area.

The city of Westland is planning to open its first dog park to residents later this year.

While the fire was extinguished days ago, fire crews are still working to help in the aftermath of the devastation.

LIVONIA, Mich. A woman died in a crash on Newburgh Road Friday afternoon, police say. The woman was driving a Ford Edge and making a left turn at a traffic light in the area when her vehicle was broadsided by a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
