The Terrapins (2-3) were slated to face the Spartans (2-5) on Saturday night as part of the Big Ten “Champions Week.”But on Thursday afternoon, Maryland released this statement:“Under the guidance and advice from university medical staff, Maryland Athletics has canceled Saturday’s scheduled football game against Michigan State. “Our team has demonstrated a tremendous work ethic, resolve and displayed Maryland pride throughout this unique season. The Scarlet Knights scored 14 points total through their first five Big Ten games last year. Rocky Lombardi was sacked and fumbled, giving Rutgers the ball at the Michigan State 1. Michigan State lost another fumble near midfield on its first possession of the third. A slow start wasn't much of a surprise, and even beyond all the turnovers, Michigan State looked disorganized on some key plays. Michigan State: The Spartans have a lot of improving to do heading into next weekend's matchup — on the road against rival Michigan.

Football can often be a war of attrition when it comes to keeping players on the field, and no two Big Ten teams have experienced more bad injury luck to key offensive personnel as Nebraska and Purdue in 2019. Nebraska and Purdue have each committed a Big Ten-high 16 turnovers. The Boilermakers have totaled 14 touchdowns in their last six games; their freshman class has accounted for 12 of those scores. Robinson's 407 receiving yards and 33 receptions are the most ever by a Nebraska true freshman, and he ranks second nationally among all freshmen in all-purpose yards (111.5 per game). MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - After flirting with danger in each of its first four games, Minnesota finally delivered the kind of complete performance expected from a team that owns one of the longer winning streaks in the country. The 25th-ranked Golden Gophers seek an eighth straight victory overall Saturday when they host a Nebraska team that could be without at least two of its most important offensive players. Minnesota's 78 points through its first two Big Ten games are its most since 1986. The Gophers last week held a Big Ten opponent without an offensive touchdown for the first time since 2012.
