DETROIT – Brianna Williams was charged with second-degree child abuse Sunday in connection with the nonfatal shooting of her 13-year-old son. Police believe he had been shot by his 10-year-old cousin, who had found an unsecured handgun belonging to a relative. Police said officers were dispatched to a home in response to a child who had been shot in the head. Williams had been charged with second-degree child abuse and received a $2,000 personal bond.

DETROIT – Police said a 20-month-old child was injured in a shooting Monday night in the 4200 block of Tyler Street. The child’s mother was arrested. Detroit police said that at about 7:46 p.m., the mother was allegedly in a dispute with a neighbor over a food delivery mix-up. DETROIT – Two men are in serious condition after being shot in a parking lot on Detroit’s west side early Sunday morning. Detroit police say at about 2 a.m. two men were sitting in a vehicle in the 18100 block of W. McNichols Road when someone reportedly walked up and shot both of them. The victims, 35 and 26 years old, were taken to the hospital and listed in temporary serious condition. The identity of the shooter is unknown at this time, according to police. DETROIT – A 26-year-old man was injured in a shooting allegedly in the area of Beaubien and Congress streets Sunday morning, Detroit police said. A preliminary investigation indicated that at about 12:56 a.m., the victim was walking when an unknown man driving in a dark colored pickup truck fired shots. Police said the victim transported himself to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition. Police are still investigating the shooting. DETROIT – A shooting in Detroit injured two men Sunday morning. According to authorities, it happened at about 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of E. Jefferson Avenue and Chrysler Street, just south of Lafayette Boulevard. Both men in the vehicle were struck and the driver transported himself and the passenger to a hospital, where the the 25-year-old was listed in serious condition and the 26-year-old was listed in critical condition. Police said the victim was walking at about 8:56 p.m. when an unknown vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots. The victim was transported by medics to a nearby hospital and was listed in temporary serious condition. PONTIAC, Mich. Two men are facing multiple charges after an 18-year-old Pontiac man was shot while playing basketball in the street. Deputies were called to the 30 block of Bellmore Lane on the initial report of a shooting in the street involving several subjects. While investigating, officials got a call about a shooting victim that arrived at McLaren Oakland Hospital. The victim, an 18-year-old from Pontiac, told deputies that he was playing basketball in the street when he heard gunshots and felt pain to his side.
