The family said the shooting happened on Oct. 10 when the two men got into some type of altercation. The suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at the man and then got into a car and drove off. It happened in the driveway of a home, on the same day the family was celebrating a wedding. He was shot in front of all three of my children, in fact, as well as my neighborโ€™s children,โ€ Turk said.

DETROIT โ€“ A barricaded situation that stretched on for more than 24 hours on Detroitโ€™s west side ended with the gunman dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. It was an outcome police tried to avoid, which is why the standoff lasted as long as it did. Police said they wanted the suspect to come out peacefully. Officers from multiple departments, including Dearborn and Redford, worked their way inside. While it was never proven in court, police are certain he was the person behind an unsolved triple-homicide on Detroitโ€™s east side.

DETROIT โ€“ A standoff with a gunman that started early Tuesday morning at a home on Detroitโ€™s northwest side has ended after more than 24 hours. The gunman, who was wanted in connection with a triple homicide on Helen Street earlier this summer, has killed himself. Police officers surrounded the home for more than a day. The hostage who escaped Wednesday morning told police he was fearing for his life the entire time he was in the home with the armed man. Original reports stated the man fired at officers, but police later clarified he did not fire directly at officers -- he just fired a shot.
