COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ€“ A man riding a snowmobile on a frozen Oakland County lake died Sunday afternoon when his vehicle crashed through the ice. According to authorities, the 26-year-old from Wixom was under the water for an hour before being removed by the Oakland County Dive Team. It happened of Delmonte Street on Wolverine Lake in Commerce Township. The Wolverine Lake Police Department is urging people to consider the dangers of being out on the lake. โ€œIce covered by snow always should be presumed unsafe.โ€The Oakland County Sheriffโ€™s Office will investigate the incident.

PONTIAC, Mich. โ€“ A Pontiac man and woman were pronounced dead at an area hospital after being found in a vehicle submerged in Terry Lake. A witness called police on Tuesday night to report that a vehicle was submerged in the lake. Dive team members found the vehicle in approximately 25 feet of water at the bottom of Terry Lake. The victims have been identified as Robert Grandberry, 69, and Cathy Grandberry, 67. Police said there is indication that Robert Grandberry had a medical issue before the vehicle went into the lake.
