According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, it happened just before 12:30 p.m. at a Sally Beauty Supply store in the 320 block of Telegraph Road, just north of Cherry Hill Street. Oakland County deputies located the suspect at the Big Lots store where they said he admitted to exposing himself and was taken into custody. A computer check revealed that the suspect was a missing and endangered person out of Southfield. The man is currently housed at the Oakland County Jail pending charges.

According to authorities, at about 11:30 a.m. Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on Conklin Road for a welfare check after someone believed there was a dead body within the home. Deputies said Animal Control was called to the scene for the removal of two dogs that were preventing Deputies from entering the home. When deputies made entry into the home, they said they found a deceased woman in an upstairs bedroom and a deceased dog in the basement. Authorities said the daughter told the deputies she was overwhelmed and was not emotionally prepared to deal with the death.

According to authorities, deputies were dispatched to Johnny Black’s Public House, located on Baldwin Road in Orion Township, just before 1 a.m. due to an intoxicated person. Police said the deputies provided several requests to back away while they continued their investigation, but the man did not comply. Police said a deputy attempted to escort the man away from the investigation when he pushed the deputy and while attempted to secure the man in handcuffs, the “highly intoxicated” man bit the deputy on his arm, drawing blood. The 24-year-old man was taken into custody and lodged at the Oakland County Jail, pending the issuance of a criminal charge.

Sources said the home invasion and assault happened early Monday morning in the area of Walton Boulevard and Livernois Road. The intruder assaulted the resident and appeared to have cut himself inside the home, which is believed to have led to his death.
