Police are investigating the deaths of three individuals from Rochester Hills who apparently overdosed on drugs, officials said. At about 4:36 p.m. on Wednesday, Auburn Hills Police found three people dead and one person alive but unconscious in a room at the Baymont Hotel on Opdyke Road. Police say they were responding to a call to check the well being of a female when they located the individuals in the room. Auburn Hills Police are urging residents not to use drugs after responding to two additional drug overdose calls within the last 24 hours. Officials say those individuals were fortunately able to be revived.

A gasoline tanker truck caught fire Saturday on Square Lake Road near Opdyke Road in Bloomfield Township. According to Bloomfield Township Police, the area -- including parts of I-75 -- have been shut down due to the fire. Hazmat teams were called to the area. Police Tweeted that residents in the area are urged to shelter in place and to call 911 immediately if they feel ill.

A fuel tanker rolled over and exploded as it was exiting the I-75 freeway at Opdyke Road in Bloomfield Township at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The driver, a 50-year-old Detroit man, extricated himself from the truck and was treated at the scene by Bloomfield Township paramedics and firefighters. Firefighters had the fire under control and extinguished by about 11:30 p.m. Several other area public safety agencies assisted Bloomfield Township police and fire in the response including Waterford, Southfield, Birmingham, West Bloomfield, Auburn Hills, Madison Heights, Royal Oak, Ferndale, Rochester Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Troy, Oakland County and Star EMS. It just fell into place.I am pleased that Bloomfield Township has such fine fire and police departments. They do a superior job, as was shown by their fast and efficient action in dealing with this situation, said Bloomfield Township Leo Savoie supervisor.

Both directions of M-59 will be closed between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Opdyke Road to remove a pedestrian bridge. In addition to the freeway closure, crews will also close the following ramps:The southbound I-75 ramp to westbound M-59The Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard ramp to eastbound M-59The southbound Opdyke Road to westbound M-59The Opdyke Road ramp to eastbound M-59. During the closure, eastbound M-59 traffic will be detoured south on Woodward Avenue to eastbound Square Lake Road, then northbound I-75 back to eastbound M-59. Westbound M-59 traffic will be detoured onto northbound I-75 to University Drive, then southbound I-75 to westbound Square Lake Road, then north on Woodward Avenue back to westbound M-59.
