In the wake of an accident that took the life of a 12-year-old, people are pushing for new safety measures along a street known for speeding drivers.

Several streets in Dearborn Heights are under at least a foot of water after another round of heavy rainfall brought flooding to Metro Detroit.

Prosecutors read the medical examiner’s report, stating that 73-year-old Ibtisam Field suffered multiple bruises, abrasions and died from blunt force trauma and strangulation.

Officials said his arrest comes one month after he was given probation for a separate attack on his mother.

A Dearborn Heights man strangled his mother to death one month after she asked a judge to release him when he was charged with assaulting her, officials said.
