SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Thursday afternoon at a parking lot in Southfield. According to authorities, the shooting happened at about 3:15 p.m. in the parking lot of a shopping center near Nine Mile and Greenfield roads. A 27-year-old man, of Taylor, was shot and rushed to a hospital, where he was in critical condition. The suspected gunman, a 21-year-old Oak Park man, was taken into police custody. An accomplice, a 21-year-old Detroit man, also was taken into custody at 8 Mile and Greenfield roads.

TROY, Mich. – Police were investigating reports of shots fired Sunday evening in the parking lot on the south side of Somerset Collection in Troy. The suspected shooter also fled the area, police said. Police don’t believe this was a random shooting. Anyone with information on this shooting needs to contact Troy police. ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A couple charged with felonious assault in connection with guns being drawn during an altercation in an Orion Township parking lot have been bound over for trial. Jillian Wuestenberg and Eric Wuestenberg were arrested and charged earlier this month. Jillian Wuestenberg said she thought she bumped into the door and not into a person. “I was at the sliding door of the van and she came out and proceeded to yell at me,” Jillian Wuestenberg said. Attorneys for both parties said their clients were overwhelmed after the video went viral.

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The attorneys for both families involved in a viral confrontation are speaking out about what happened Wednesday. The gun drawn altercation between Jillian and Eric Wuestenberg; and Takelia Hill and her daughters went viral, leading to felony charges. They saw this,” said Chris Quinn, the Hill family attorney. He served his country very well,” said Terry Johnson, the Wuestenberg family attorney. Quinn believes Jillian Wuestenberg should have deescalated the argument with the 15-year-old girl and Johnson believes charges should be filed against Hill.

LIVONIA, Mich. A 46-year-old Livonia woman faces a disturbing the peace charge after getting into an altercation with a fellow grocery store shopper June 13 in the parking lot outside the Kroger store on 8 Mile Road. The Wayne County Prosecutors Office said Paula Marie Gearin intentionally blocked another female shoppers car so that the shopper was not able to leave the grocery store parking lot. According to the Prosecutors Office, it was about 4 p.m that day when the defendant was in the grocery store with a child. While in the store, she had a verbal exchange with another female shopper who was with her children, too. Livonia police officers arrived and spoke with both parties and the complainant filed a police report, reads a statement from the Prosecutors Office.

BRIGHTON, Mich. – A woman was approached by a man while sitting in her car in the parking lot of Planet Fitness, Brighton police said. The incident happened around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Planet Fitness on East Grand River Avenue, authorities said. The woman said she was sitting in her car when a white man in his 40s or 50s approached. When she partially lowered her window to ask what he wanted, the man reached for her door handle, according to officials. The only other incident involved a self-proclaimed homeless man who approached a woman in a parking lot and asked for money, Bradford said.
