Police said he was standing on the corner of Gratiot Avenue and Conner Street when two vehicles collided in the intersection at about 8:40 p.m. It is unknown which of the two vehicles struck the pedestrian on the corner. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. It happened at 8 Mile Road and Coolidge Highway. Police said the driver was heading south, turning right on 8 Mile Road when they struck and killed a young man. The driver pulled their vehicle into a nearby gas station and stayed to speak with police officers.
