Individuals and children who may have had close contact with the infected individual have already been contacted directly, officials said. Anyone who believes they have been in close contact with COVID-19 should self-monitor for symptoms and get tested for the virus if symptoms arise. COVID-19 symptoms can develop up to 14 days after exposure to the virus. Some viruses are highly contagious (spread easily), like measles, while other viruses do not spread as easily.
