Police said the vehicle was taken during an armed carjacking Friday in Detroit.

The incident took place on Jan. 28 when police in Grosse Pointe Shores tried to stop a car for a traffic violation. There were two chases: The first one ended in Grosse Pointe Shores and a second that finished off on Jefferson Avenue and Revere Street.

Police were spotted leaving the the scene Friday night on Jefferson Avenue and Revere Street where a police chase ended.

Police said On-Star provided updates to police on the vehicle’s location.

Just after 1 p.m., officers exited their patrol vehicle on John R. Street to investigate two men, who reportedly put their SUV in reverse, grazed one of the officers and sped off.

He was arrested and charged with three counts of fleeing and eluding, as well as several other outstanding arrest warrants.

”Not only did a 20-year-old lose her life, there were two other people in another vehicle that were injured,” said Sterling Heights police Lt. Mario Bastianelli. “Could those people have lost their lives? That vehicle was traveling over 100 miles an hour, it’s a missile going down the road. It’s unnecessary. All for what? A stolen vehicle? What a waste.”

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Police arrested a man driving a stolen vehicle after he led officers on a chase in Farmington Hills. Dashcam video shows officers trying to stop the driver with their vehicles. Body cam footage shows officers chasing the man, even jumping over a fence. Police believed the suspect was armed after they retraced their steps the next day. “The next morning, during daylight, investigators recovered a fully loaded handgun from the area believed to be involved in the incident,” said Police Chief Jeff King.

DETROIT – Police took two people into custody Saturday morning after a brief police pursuit. Police said when they ran his vehicle’s license plate, it didn’t match the man’s vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the man sped off. During the pursuit, police said the passenger became injured when he opened the door and fell from the vehicle. He was taken into custody. The driver reportedly fired shots at the police at some point, but was taken into police custody.

TOLEDO – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of crimes after a two-state police pursuit Saturday night. Just after 5 p.m., a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy in Lambertville, just north of Toledo, was informed by a citizen of a damaged black Impala parked at a Rite Aid Pharmacy located near the intersection of Secor and Sterns roads. Deputies pursued the suspect southbound into Toledo, where they turned the pursuit over to the Toledo Police Department, who took the man into custody. He is currently lodged at the Lucas County Jail, pending extradition to Michigan for face charges of armed robbery, felonious assault and more. FERNDALE, Mich. – A police chase that started in Hazel Park ended with a violent crash in Ferndale on Friday. A white Hyundai Sonata was pulled over by police in Hazel Park for a traffic violation. The crash ended on the Ferndale side of 8 Mile Road, not far from the State Fairgrounds in Detroit. After the crash a man ran across the street and was taken into custody. His passenger ran further into Ferndale and is still at large.

ROMULUS, Mich. – Police are searching for suspects believed to be connected to a deadly shooting in Romulus. READ: Romulus murder suspect leads police on high-speed chase on I-94 in DetroitOfficers approaching the scene attempted to stop a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander that was observed leaving the area. The suspect fled northbound on Middlebelt Road from Northline before heading east on I-94. The Romulus officers pursuing the suspect were joined by Michigan State Police officers. The suspect vehicle eventually entered Hamtramck, where a suspect left the vehicle near the 13000 block of St. Louis.

DETROIT – A man who died after being shot by police tried to get psychological help before the incident, his family said. Craig said Michael Moza was a suspect in multiple shootings at that residence and was followed by police during the first incident. “for the election.”Police said Michael Moza started to have an outburst and get sick on the job. The next morning Michael Moza was accused of firing five more shots into the home from the prior incident. Michael is the third person with mental health issues to be shot and killed by police in recent months.

DETROIT – A police pursuit ended in a crash Sunday night on Detroit’s west side. Police said it started when Redford police spotted a carjacking suspect out of Livonia. Michigan State Police joined the pursuit that ended when police said the suspect crashed into a Jeep near the intersection of Plymouth Road and Marlowe Street. According to authorities, the Jeep was transporting a mother and child, who were rushed to the hospital. Police said they are expected to be OK and the suspect was taken into custody.

DETROIT – A father was sentenced Friday to a year in jail and three years of probation in connection with a police chase with his 4-month-old baby in the car. Brandon Walker, 26, pleaded guilty to child abuse after he took his daughter from his girlfriend in April and took off. Shortly after the chase was called off, the mother was able to get the baby from the vehicle in the area of Seven Mile Road and Oakfield Avenue. Other charges -- including kidnapping -- were dropped as a part of the sentencing agreement. More: Metro Detroit crime news

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A routine traffic stop turned into a chaotic pursuit on I-94 Thursday morning. According to authorities, Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies made a traffic stop just before 12:30 a.m. on a red Chevrolet pickup truck near Crocker Boulevard and Reimold Road. Police said the truck pulled away as the deputy approached and fled on I-94 eastbound. Police said the suspect began to deliberately ram the deputy vehicles, causing on vehicle to drive off the highway. Storing, a 31-year-old woman from Clinton Township, was arrested for flee and elude, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of heroin.

TAYLOR, Mich. Michigan State Police troopers and officers with the Taylor Police Department took a man into custody Thursday morning after a police pursuit. According to authorities, MSP troopers were notified of a domestic assault that occurred in front of Taylor Police officers on I-94. Police said there were two young children in the vehicle at the time who were transported to a hospital as a precaution. MSP will submit a request for the fleeing and elude, resist and obstruct and child endangerment through the prosecutors office. The domestic assault portion of the investigation will be handled by Taylor Police Department.
