The city of Detroit is planning to offer 1,000 COVID-19 testing appointments each day to residents and workers in an effort to curb coronavirus spread.

The FDA issued a warning Tuesday the potential for false positive results with certain lots of the Ellume COVID-19 Home Test due to a recently identified manufacturing issue.

Mayor Mike Duggan announced Monday the city signed a contract with Abbott Labs, allowingDetroit to become one of the first U.S. cities to receive such kits that return positive results in about 5 minutes and negative results in about 13 minutes.
