That is four times higher than what the recount cost four years ago, a cost increase that elections officials said was driven by expenses related to conducting a recount during the coronavirus pandemic. The Wisconsin Elections Commission on Monday released the recount timeline and cost estimate, which was based on costs submitted by the 72 counties. Trump’s Wisconsin campaign spokeswoman Anna Kelly did not immediately return a message seeking comment on the estimated cost. Milwaukee County had the highest estimated cost at just over $2 million.

The county’s website has election results from its May election, the August and March primaries, and the November 2019 election. Between 1884 and 2016, Antrim County voters have selected Republican candidates in 32 of the 34 national elections. “The priority is to make sure every vote is counted correctly,” said Antrim County public information officer Jeremy Scott. The political reversal of Antrim County warrants a more thorough pair of eyes to see if there was a computer or human error in the count.
