The historic Eloise property was sold by Wayne County back in 2018 for just $1. John Hambrick, who purchased the property, pitched new plans to the Westland Planning Commission, which includes splitting the 16-acre property into five parcels to house a different use. History of EloiseThe Eloise began as the Wayne County Poorhouse, which opened in 1839 in the now defunct Nankin Township. Nankin was a part of Wayne County, originally named Bucklin Township, and it included what are now the cities of Livonia, Inkster, Dearborn, Redford, Wayne and Westland.

Johnson said the Regional Transit Authority of Southeastern Michigan plans on doing that by asking more people to use public transportation and document the experience online. It was basically created to showcase the positive fun, sometimes quirky stories of the transit riders, Johnson said. Were really trying to put it in peoples minds, that public transportation is for you, Johnson said. Its less expensive to ride the bus as opposed to having a car, paying a car note and paying high car insurance.
