ROCHESTER, Mich. – Trying to get a COVID vaccine has been a frustrating process for many seniors and their families. Brian Gallagher from Rochester, was eligible to get the vaccine, but called Help Me Hank because he couldn’t get his elderly loved ones a vaccine appointment. On Wednesday, after months of trying, his mother-in-law and aunt were able to get their first dose of the vaccine.

When firefighters arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames with heavy fire showing through the roof. Most of the bungalow style roof collapsed during the fire. According to the Rochester Hills Fire Department, the same home caught fire less than a month ago on Christmas Eve.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Fire crews were dispatched Thursday morning to Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital on reports of a fire. According to authorities, the call came in at about 8:45 a.m. and when fire crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the second floor of the building. Authorities said the hospital’s sprinkler system held the fire back until fire crews were able to extinguish the fire. Rochester Hills Fire Department had help from fire crews from Waterford, Bloomfield Township, Troy, Oakland Township and Auburn Hills. The fire investigation will be handled by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. Two individuals were reported as trapped in the Clinton River in Rochester Hills on Tuesday afternoon. The Rochester Hills Fire Department arrived to the area of Avon and South Livernois to rescue the individuals around 5 p.m. Upon arrival firefighters found the individuals out of the water, but their kayaks were wedged in tree debris in the river, officials said. The Rochester Hills Fire Department is urging extreme caution to residents visiting the river due to high water and fast moving currents caused by recent heavy rains. Officials say downtown Midland could be under 9 feet of water due to the condition of the Edenville dam.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. A firefighter was injured Sunday morning while working to put out a garage fire in the 3400 block of John R Road in Rochester Hills. Crews from the Rochester Hills Fire Department were dispatched to the area after a call came into 911 from the house at around 6 a.m. Sunday. Byers Towing assisted the fire department in moving the vehicle out of the garage so firefighters could extinguish the fire. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in about 25 minutes, according to the Rochester Hills Fire Department. One firefighter was burned at the scene and taken to a hospital.
