The shooting happened at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Wash Pointe Car Wash. Police say a 30-year-old man was at the car wash and was approached by two male suspects who revealed a handgun and attempted to rob the car wash patron. The car wash patron was armed and police said he “exchanged gunfire with one of the alleged robbers.” During the shooting, one of the robbers -- now identified as a 16-year-old boy from Detroit -- was shot and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
