The University of Michigan made history Tuesday, hiring Milan Bolden-Morris as the first female graduate assistant coach in Power 5 FBS history.

College football trophies have a tendency to be quirky, whether it’s the Old Brass Spittoon, the Little Brown Jug, the Iron Skillet, the Bronze Boot or the Golden Egg.

Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins combined for 229 yards rushing and four touchdowns, carrying No. 6 Michigan to a 33-7 win over Northwestern.

According to coach Pat Fitzgerald, the biggest test of the season awaits his team on Saturday. The Wildcats will try to knock No. 6 Michigan from the ranks of the unbeaten in Ann Arbor.

Northwestern lost its opener to Michigan State and dropped its last road game by 49 points.

The second half of Michigan’s schedule is among the toughest in college football, but it begins Saturday with a less heralded matchup against Northwestern.

South Carolina has spent plenty of time preparing for the Bulldogs considering the Gamecocks have not played since a 24-7 victory over Kentucky on Sept. 28.
