It’s called Top 10 Cares, and it’s all about connecting struggling restaurants with funds to help them feed local communities. The Top 10 Cares initiative sends donations directly to local restaurants, who then deliver healthy, locally sourced meals to community members in need. Now, the goal is shifting to feed Detroit-area community members who have been hard hit by the pandemic. Anani said the money he’s gotten to feed the community has helped him keep his doors open.

Partnering with Chef Omar Anani of the James Beard-nominated Detroit restaurant Saffron De Twah, Chef Ji Hye Kim, a James Beard award nominee herself, is offering unique Moroccan-Korean menus only available on Wednesday nights. This week’s menu, available for pickup on Wednesday, Jan.27, is sandwich themed. According to a newsletter from Miss Kim, pre-order items for that menu sold out in three days,The collaborative pop-up is planned to last through Valentine’s Day, says the Saffron De Twah website. Miss Kim is at 415 N. 5th Ave. in Ann Arbor’s Kerrytown neighborhood.

Where are the closest Moroccan restaurants in the city? So I did a Google search and nothing popped up, said Omar. So in April of 2019, he opened Saffron De Twah, adding his own flair to classic Moroccan foods and flavors. The restaurant is small but features lots of colorful lanterns on the wall, and a beautiful mural on the outside wall. If you would like to try out Saffron De Twah they are located at 7636 Gratiot Avenue in Detroit.
