A Bloomfield Hills man was killed Monday night when he was struck by a Jeep while riding a bicycle in Auburn Hills, police said.

ANN ARBOR Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital will soon begin piloting its new Nutrition Buddies program, a two-year program designed to teach teens about nutrition while providing them with farm-fresh produce and cooking classes. Over the course of the program, 80 participants aged 12 to 14 will learn about low-cost food and nutrition while participating in a Farm Share program, week-long summer camps and after school classes. According to Alexandra Babcock, the Lifestyle & Culinary Medicine Coordinator at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, the program has two goals: Educating physicians and giving participants confidence and autonomy regarding food choices. ANN ARBOR – Saint Joseph Mercy Health System has treated its first COVID-19 patient with plasma donated by a recovered individual at St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor hospital. Eleven patients at St. Joe’s were among the first to be registered nationally for the trial. Along with St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, three other health system member hospitals are participating in the program, including St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, St. Mary Mercy Livonia and Mercy Health Muskegon. In addition to the Mayo Clinic’s convalescent plasma program, St. Joe’s Ann Arbor is also participating in Gilead’s Remdesivir Expanded Access Program. Similar to the plasma program, only patients with life-threatening symptoms who require ventilator support are eligible for the remdesivir program.
