The road will be closed from east of South Maple Road to South Seventh Street for construction crews to remove and replace pavement; improve sidewalks, ramps and crosswalks; and work on public utilities.

Closures or lane shifts will range from a few weeks to six months.

A wooden pole and span wire signal has been erected for interim use at the intersection of South Main Steet and Scio Church Road.

South Maple Road will remain closed 24/7 until the project is finished on Friday, Jan. 21.
