A self-described “sick monster” from Waterford Township has been sentenced to decades in prison after he sexually exploited at least 10 children through means such as blackmail, child pornography and assault.

Monroe County officials arrested a suspected sex offender after detectives conducted an undercover operation on social media.

A Michigan teacher is facing five sex charges and has been placed on administrative leave after an incident that happened last month, officials said.

For hours on Tuesday, victims told the judge what happened to them. The victims said the men who assaulted them were fraternity brothers. One of the victims said she repeatedly told Durbin to stop.

ROCHESTER, Mich. – An Oakland County teacher learned her prison sentence Tuesday after parents said she would sneak into students’ homes for sex and give them drugs. Kathryn Houghtaling was a special education teacher at Rochester High School. Houghtaling is accused of having sex with the students multiple times, including at least once in a car while students watched. Before she was sentenced, Houghtaling read a letter to the judge. Houghtaling was sentenced to four to 15 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.
