UPDATE: North Carolina man charged in crash that killed 4-year-old daughter in Livingston CountyAccording to authorities, the man’s 33-year-old wife, 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Police say the 4-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and died at the scene. The driver, his wife and 8-year-old son were removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel and taken to the hospital for their injuries. Officials with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office believe that excessive speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

Michigan State Police say at about 9:50 p.m. four teenage males from Manistee County were driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on River Road in Manistee Township when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the side of the road. Police say when they arrived at the scene, one passenger was still stuck inside the vehicle and had to be removed. All four occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Police believe that alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash.

Michigan State Police say at about 5:35 a.m. the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving southbound on Southfield Freeway. Officials say the driver was trapped in the vehicle and was removed by the fire department. He was then rushed to a hospital and listed in serious, but stable, condition. The westbound I-94 ramp to southbound Southfield Freeway was initially closed for repairs but has been reopened.

The man hit the wall at the base of the ramp and then rolled down the freeway, officials said. According to police the man was ejected from the vehicle. Police say at around 3:43 p.m. a 16-year-old boy lost control of a 2007 Kia Sorento in a series of small hits while driving westbound on Taylor Hawks Road near Rogers Road. The vehicle overturned multiple times and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
