Tuesday morning update:From the city of Detroit at 10 a.m.:City contractors began residential street plowing at 6 AM today; have until 6 AM Wednesday to complete workResidents asked to remain patient over the next 24 hoursDPW crews will plow and salt on major thoroughfares. Bike lanes will be cleared after vehicle travel lanes have all been removed of snow; accumulated snow in bike lanes will be pushed to the closest intersection and hauled away. “Some time tomorrow (Tuesday), you can expect to see the plows starting to come down the residential streets.”AdThe snow is also forcing the city to move Tuesday’s COVID vaccinations at the TCF Center to Saturday. Detroit residents can call 313-224-3901 to report if their street was missed after the city has announced it is done plowing the streets.

To see each snowplow’s name, visit the Mi Drive map here and activate the MDOT snowplow tracker map layer. Current snowplow names were chosen from hundreds of suggestions and include Plowasaurus Rex, Winter Snowdier, Sir Salts-A-Lot, Snowboni and -- of course -- Plowy McPlowface. MDOT is hopeful to name each of the more than 250 MDOT plows statewide in the near future. Don’t get cold feet and submit your plow names here.

She stopped the car and he got out near a running snow plow, according to authorities. Shirtless and barefoot, Nikprelaj ran to the snow plow, which is owned by ZLM Services, a landscape firm a block from the apartment complex, police said. The in-cab video from the snow plow showed Nikprelaj jumping inside and caring little about what he ran over. “They were moving cars about the lot when he came across it, hopped in and took off,” Shelby Township police Det.
