Now, you can see the story of Carole King brought to life in the show “Beautiful - The Carole King Musical” which takes the stage at the Fisher Theater through Sunday.

I have written more about music than probably any other topic over the years. I ended up going down a wormhole online and stumbled upon a Spotify playlist called Songs in 5/4. Again, I can’t read or write music but that was my idiot takeaway on the matter. If three of my all-time favorite pieces of music are in 5/4, would I like anything else in the same time signature/syncopation? Suffice to say if you look up the Spotify playlist “Songs in 5/4” you can do your own research.

Our talented friends are joining in on the fun by sharing their music from their home studios. She recently started her own commission songwriting business titled Song for You. It started with her love of writing songs. Ive always loved writing songs. I think that is my favorite part of music even when I hear music Im instantly drawn to lyrics. Our Music Monday home studio session today featured a singer that has a new crank up the radio and roll down the windows song. Mama Yaya is a Chicago based singer, but her new album Broken Record was produced and recorded in Detroit. Ive been traveling back and forth between Chicago and Detroit for maybe about 3 years now and weve been working on music for this whole time. Ever heard of Boyz II Men? Host Jason Carr got to chat with Lisa Winans and her husband Juan, from Detroits own Winans family, about the song they will perform on NBCs Songland for Boyz II Men. Juan Winans was born and raised in Detroit and he is Bebe and Cece Winans nephew. Now they have re-entered their new music and have a chance to put their music to the test with Boyz II Men. Find out if Boyz II Men picks Juan and Lisa Winans song on 'Songland, Monday at 10pm on Local 4.

The Voice is down to 5 finalists and tonight is when the best will be chosen! Host Jason Carr chatted with Todd Tilghman, Cammwess, and Thunderstorm Artis, 3 of the 5 finalists from The Voice, about what it will take to win. The last song Todd decided to sing was Love, Me by Collin Raye which charted on iTunes after his performance. After working with Team Kelly, and then being stolen by Team John, Cammwess explained how important the coaches mentoring is to the success of his performance. Thunderstorm Artis was stolen by Team Nick after John Legend picked another singer during the Knockout round.
