The drive-in says it was served a cease-and-desist order from law enforcement when it was showing movies early Friday morning. Michigans stay-at-home order has been extended until June 12, but it appears the drive-in did not know this and thought the stay-at-home order would expire at midnight. Heres the statement on the drive-ins Facebook page Friday morning:"During last nights movies, we were served a cease-and-desist order by law enforcement. The governors revised stay-at-home order did not call for a non essential business such as a drive-in movie theater to reopen.

Gretchen Whitmer has kept barbershops and hair salons closed for weeks, citing a high risk of virus transmission as stylists cut hair and people wait for their turn. Uncontroverted evidence clearly revealed that COVID-19 is a highly communicable illness, the appeals court said. Texas hair salon owner Shelley Luther, who was briefly jailed for opening her shop, appeared at a rally outside Manke's business.
