Police were still working to find out who’s responsible for shooting and killing a family’s beloved dog near their Chesterfield Township home.

A family is devastated and searching for answers after their dog was shot and killed near their Chesterfield Township home.

Stella Weaver, the only girl playing in the Little League World Series this year, singled, scored a run and was hit by a pitch, helping Tennessee to an 8-1 win over Rhode Island on Friday.

They’re at the top of their sport.

The two sixth graders have grown up figuring out ways to help others and when they saw the news reports of health care workers in need, they wanted to help. They saw news stories about health care workers who were struggling to get the personal protection equipment they needed. Stella and Maybree took it all in, not as 11-year-olds, but as humans who simply care about other humans. They decided to raise money to help Henry Ford Health System’s COVID emergency relief efforts.

ROSEVILLE, Mich. - Police are investigating a student-on-student attack that could result in criminal charges. The attack happened at Roseville Middle School Thursday, on school grounds, one week before the start of school in that community. Roseville police said they are investigating the incident and intend to send it to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, which could result in charges. Stella said her 11-year-old son was in a classroom with other incoming middle school students with only the supervision of 8th grade team leaders. Her son, despite the assault, is anxious for the start of school next week.
