You read that correctly: THIRTY road construction projects are slated to begin today around Metro Detroit. MDOT expects the projects to be completed between the middle and end of July. The program kicks off today in Detroit at the Wayne County Community College District's Health Science Center -- 8200 Outer Drive West, Detroit, MI 48219. The program will begin TODAY and last through Friday, July 19, with a selective group of 35 students.

Overnight closures on I-75 Speaking of construction, watch out for this one in Oakland County: MDOT said crews will close both directions of I-75 during the overnight hours starting today and lasting through Tuesday, July 2. The full closures will occur between Big Beaver Road and Corporate Drive/Crooks Road and are needed for setting new bridge beams on the overpasses at Wattles Road and Corporate Drive. Both directions of I-75 will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. the following mornings.
