For today’s “Take-Out Tuesday”, Jason Carr spoke to Betty Shuell, co-owner of Culantro in Ferndale. The restaurant is known for their signature and authentic Peruvian dishes. Culantro brought the authentic flavors of Peru over to Ferndale two years ago and has been in the area ever since. It is then cooked in their special oven which they brought from Peru.

Host Tati Amare was joined by Executive Chef, Matt Prentice who described how the cafe is changing things up for customers. The cafe has been offering delivery and pick-up orders since March and are now open for dine in services as well. Its not unusual for us to do carry-outs for 100 to 150 people a day, said Prentice. James Beard Award nominee Takoi has a Thai-inspired menu, serving up lots of creative small plates featuring flavors from Southeast Asia. Starting next week they will be serving hot food outside of Takoi for carryout, offering large family meals with some vegetarian options.
