DETROIT – Four women shared the challenges they’ve faced and their worries for other women amid the COVID pandemic as we mark International Women’s Day. Local 4 brought four women together to speak about the impact of the pandemic, the challenges they faced and the determination they had to fix the problems COVID-19 magnified. She has been fighting to keep her business alive during the pandemic and throughout that fight, she has focused on feeding others. Ad“All of a sudden it went from a lake of need to an ocean of need all around us,” Shand said. You know, as far as child care, family leave, the pandemic shined a light -- and you know, exposed those cracks,” Shand said.

There are great ways to experience life in your home now. On Whats the Buzz, Live in the D friends of the show played a game of Keep It Or Quit It, when discussing if they are ready to go back to normal and experience life outside their home or if they want to keep it in their home. Joining Host Tati Amare was Mark Sobolewski, a teacher, actor, and comedian; Mimi Brown a motivational speaker and author; and Tasha Lord, a singer and songwriter. Summer is here but is it too soon to start thinking about fall and the upcoming holiday season? The first question was is it too soon to be thinking about getting the kids ready to back to school? Lord said she thinks it's ok to start preparing for back to school, the deals are too good to pass up. Both Sobolewski and Lord agreed it is too early to think about fall clothes. Memorial Day is just around the corner, and for most of us that means summer fun! Our 'What's the Buzz' panel joined us in studio to talk about their Memorial Day plans, Tasha Lord a singer and musician, Marlin Page a Technology Strategist and Founder of Sister Code and Jason Hall the Co-Founder of Slow Roll Detroit. We asked the panel what their favorite place to visit in Michigan and some of the places that were mentioned were Grand Rapids because of its culture and art, the Upper Peninsula off of Lake Michigan because of its beautiful sights, and lastly right here in Detroit, because Detroit is thriving with so many new bars, restaurants and unique places to explore.
