After some sunshine and a little snow to end the weekend; more wet weather moves in as we look ahead into the Thanksgiving holiday

We'll keep a few snow flurries in the forecast for Sunday, but the cold temperatures remain before warmer weather moves into the region

We're looking at just how many Americans are traveling for Thanksgiving this year, and how much it'll cost them.

DETROIT – The holidays can be a stressful time and, when you factor in the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of people are feeling that tension. Doing things differently in order to stay safe amid the pandemic isn’t sitting well with everyone. “We’re seeing a lot of conflict and tension between family members about how to handle the upcoming holidays,” said Dr. Susan Albers, psychologist at the Cleveland Clinic. Albers says a lot of her patients have expressed feelings of guilt about skipping family gatherings this year. “We create a lot of scenarios in our minds about how the holidays are going to play out, and sometimes we create the worst case scenarios,” Albers said.

DETROIT – The highest number of air travelers are expected to take to the skies since the onset of COVID-19 this week. There is such widespread covid activity across the country, air travel is a real risk when it comes to spreading coronavirus. The biggest concern about air travel over the holiday is the gatherings of large numbers of people into indoor areas -- airports, airplanes -- where infected people can more easily transmit the virus. “America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Gardner-White,” a holiday tradition that originates from Downtown Detroit, will be a TV and online-only event this year on Local 4 and ClickOnDetroit.com. Themed “We Are One Together,” this year’s parade will honor frontline workers and heroes of the COVID-19 crisis.
