Now, student athletes are speaking out and have launched a petition to MDHHS to resume practices and competitions. We trust the guidance and leadership of those in charge of the health and safety of Michigan student-athletes. Given the University’s knowledge of the situation surrounding the athletic department, should a total shutdown have been necessary, it should have come from the University of Michigan leaders. The student-athletes at the University of Michigan stand united in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and keeping every member of our community safe.

Kaia won the 100m and 300m Hurdles categories. The senior at Marysville High School also won the state championship last year for 100m hurdles and placed all states in the 300m hurdles! After discovering that she loved it, Kaia stuck with track all through middle school and then joined the Marysville team freshman year. Although COVID-19 forced a change in plans, Kaia also qualified and is now training for the champions division of New Balance Indoor Nationals and the Junior Olympics.

Olivia Kochevar - 4 Frenzy Spotlight (WDIV)Act of BraveryEarlier in the school year, Olivia and a classmate were at school early when her classmate suddenly began suffering from a medical health emergency. With no adults near, Olivia immediately called for help and stayed with that student until help arrived.
