Neither the trooper nor the 22-year-old Tesla driver were injured in the 1:10 a.m. crash, police said. Earlier this week NHTSA sent a special crash investigation team to Detroit for a crash that involved a Tesla that drove beneath a semitrailer. NHTSA has previously investigated more than a dozen Tesla crashes, but hasn’t made public any action.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Monroe County deputy and a member of the Monroe Township Fire Department were both hospitalized Friday morning after their vehicles collided while responding to the same emergency. Authorities say that at about 7:48 a.m. Friday, the Monroe County sheriff deputy was traveling westbound on Dunbar Road while responding to an emergency call. Officials say the truck was driven by a member of the Monroe Township Fire Department, who was actually responding to the same emergency as the deputy. A passenger in the Tesla -- an unidentified 21-year-old woman -- suffered from a head injury and was taken to the hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. DETROIT – A man involved in an alleged intentional car crash in Detroit early Saturday morning has died. When troopers arrived at the scene of the crash, they found a wounded man laying on the ground and an uninjured female passenger, officials said. Officials believe the car crash was intentional and that the individuals involved knew each other. Police say the alleged intentional car crash resulted in gunfire. Police identified the uninjured woman as a “female passenger,” but did not say which vehicle she belonged to.

WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 33-year-old Ypsilanti man died due to a vehicle crash on US-23 Thursday evening. According to authorities, at about 6:50 p.m. Thursday, the Ypsilanti man was driving a black 2008 Hyundai Tiburon northbound on US-23 in Whiteford Township when he pulled over onto the right shoulder for unknown reasons. Shortly after, the man reportedly began traveling in reverse on the shoulder and as he reentered the freeway, driving backwards in the far right lane. As the Ypsilanti man reentered the freeway, his Hyundai was struck by a 52-year-old Adrian man driving a Ford Expedition who was unable to stop while traveling northbound on US-23. The 33-year-old man driving the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

TAYLOR, Mich. – A 20-year-old man accused of drunk driving is now facing nine felony charges following a fatal car crash in Taylor. Noah Gary Damron was charged in Wayne County Friday for his involvement in a car crash that killed a 12-year-old girl earlier in the week. BRIGHTON, Mich. – Police are investigating a single-car crash that killed a 4-year-old girl in Livingston County on Friday. UPDATE: North Carolina man charged in crash that killed 4-year-old daughter in Livingston CountyAccording to authorities, the man’s 33-year-old wife, 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Police say the 4-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and died at the scene. PONTIAC, Mich. – A 29-year-old woman has died nearly 48 hours after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Pontiac Monday night. On Dec. 7, Vannessa Deanes was tragically struck by a Chevy Impala while crossing North Perry Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Deanes was listed in critical condition Monday night, and ultimately passed away due to her injuries. Russini had worked with Deanes for years at the Heritage Baptist Church, where she once helped out with children during Sunday school. Police say it was a 31-year-old man behind the wheel who kept driving after hitting the 29-year-old woman.

MANISTEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating a single-car crash that killed one teenage passenger and seriously injured three others Friday night. Michigan State Police say at about 9:50 p.m. four teenage males from Manistee County were driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on River Road in Manistee Township when the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the side of the road. Police say when they arrived at the scene, one passenger was still stuck inside the vehicle and had to be removed. All four occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Police believe that alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash.

The 31-year-old driver of the GMC, a man also from Toledo, Ohio, was reportedly waiting for assistance and had his hazard lights on when his vehicle was struck. Following the crash, the front seat passenger of the Honda Civic -- a 36-year-old woman from Toledo, Ohio -- was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. A third passenger of the Honda Civic -- a 41-year-old woman from Toledo, Ohio -- was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition. The woman was not wearing a seat belt during the crash, officials said. The 23-year-old driver of the Honda Civic was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Monroe County Jail.

YSPILANTI, Mich. – The collision on eastbound I-94 in Ypsilanti has been cleared, authorities said. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area of eastbound I-94 near Huron Street due to a traffic incident. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office announced at 3:52 p.m. Saturday that all lanes are closed due to a traffic incident that occurred in the area. ALLEN PARK, Mich. – The driver of a tow truck was rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning after colliding with the eastbound I-94 bridge in Allen Park, according to officials. Michigan State Police say at about 5:35 a.m. the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving southbound on Southfield Freeway. Officials say the driver was trapped in the vehicle and was removed by the fire department. He was then rushed to a hospital and listed in serious, but stable, condition. The westbound I-94 ramp to southbound Southfield Freeway was initially closed for repairs but has been reopened.

DETROIT – A Detroit woman is being charged with second-degree murder and driving while intoxicated following a car crash that killed a 6-year-old boy Monday night. One 6-year-old child and the infant are Keith’s children. The other 6-year-old child and the 3-year-old were the children of a friend, according to officials. Keith’s vehicle flipped and landed upside down on Joy Road, police say. A 6-year-old boy -- who was not Keith’s child -- was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a multiple-vehicle crash involving four cars and a semi truck on Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, at about 1:30 p.m. the traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Rawsonville and Textile roads in Ypsilanti Township. Officials say individuals involved sustained serious injuries, though the full extent of the injuries has not been released. So far no deaths have been reported in connection with this crash. The intersection was initially closed for further investigation and has since reopened.

DETROIT – Two employees at a car repair shop witnessed the violent traffic crash that killed a 6-year-old boy on Detroit’s west side Monday night. According to police, a woman driving an SUV with the boy and three other children collided with another SUV near Joy Road and Artesian Street. The 6-year-old boy, one of the son’s friends, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the SUV, along with the man driving the other SUV, were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman driving the SUV has been taken into police custody and is awaiting charges.

ROMULUS, Mich. – Nine people, seven of them being children ages of 7-12, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at Eureka Road and Brandt Street, Romulus police said. Police responded at about 5:50 p.m. to the crash involving a gold Chevy Equinox and a white Chevy Impala. The nine people are being treated at a hospital. The crash is under investigation. FERNDALE, Mich. A Redford woman is in critical condition after crashing a vehicle into a bridge and tree in Ferndale early Wednesday morning. Ferndale police say at about 2:30 a.m. the 40-year-old woman crashed into the bridge at Eight Mile Road and Woodward Avenue, and then struck a tree. The driver was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition. Officials say the woman may have suffered from a medical condition. No roads have been closed due to the incident.

TAYLOR, Mich. A man died early Wednesday morning after crashing a vehicle into the Michigan Department of Transportation building in Taylor, according to authorities. Michigan State Police say at around 2:10 a.m. the male driver exited from westbound I-94 at Telegraph Road, drove across Telegraph Road and over a grassy area, and then crashed into the back of the building. The man was removed from the vehicle by police and medics and CPR was attempted. Police believe that it is possible the man suffered from a medical emergency prior to the crash. BATTLE CREEK, Mich. A mid-Michigan man has died following a chase and confrontation with officers, police said. The 22-year-old Marshall man was driving toward officers when they opened fire on him early Saturday, the Battle Creek Police Department said. Two Battle Creek officers traveling in the same patrol vehicle attempted to stop a suspected drunken driver whose SUV was veering into oncoming lanes of traffic, police said. As officers walked toward the SUV, the man suddenly drove toward them, and the three officers shot into the vehicle, police said. Investigators said its unclear how many shots were fired, and whether any of the shots hit the man.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Tuesday afternoon in Cottrelville Township in St. Clair County. Four people died when two SUVs collided at the corner of Broadbridge and Starville roads. The collision sent both vehicles off the road. Its believed that a man and woman were in one vehicle and two men were in the other. Three victims died at the scene and the fourth died at a hospital.

The calls for action come just days after an 8-year-old girl was killed by a speeding car on Conner Street. Residents said they see drivers speeding down the street everyday and want the city to do something before another child is killed. She was only 16 years old, flying up the street, doing like 80 (miles per hour) up the street,” Hill said. “We need speed bumps and we’ve been needing speed bumps for years,” Hill said. This year alone we are installing more than 1200 speed cushions at 800 locations and are evaluating this stretch of Conner for possible speed cushions in the near future.

ROSEVILLE, Mich. A 2-year-old child has died while in the care of a babysitter following an unreported accident that occurred on Sunday, police say. Officials say the child, their siblings and their babysitter were involved in a traffic incident over the weekend somewhere in Warren. The childs cause of death is currently unknown at this time. Roseville police say it is currently unclear if the unreported traffic crash contributed to the childs death. We will be seeking the highest appropriate charges if any in this tragic loss of a child, the Roseville Police Department said in a press release.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – On Monday at 9:41 a.m. Michigan State Police troopers from the Monroe Post were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury crash on I-75 near Laplaisance Road. A Toyota minivan occupied by a 25-year-old woman and her 2-year-old son were traveling north on I-75. The minivan struck the back of a commercial box truck that was slowing down due to traffic congestion caused by construction. DETROIT Two people have been charged following the death of a 48-year-old man who was killed in a car crash on Friday. The man was struck by a 19-year-old driver who was fleeing Detroit police. Officers identified the suspects vehicle traveling south on West Outer Drive near Plymouth Road. The 48-year-old man driving the Honda Odyssey was transported to the hospital following the crash, where he was pronounced dead. On Monday Stringer was charged with second-degree murder, first- and second-degree fleeing and eluding, reckless driving causing death and reckless driving causing serious impairment of bodily function.

BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A retired fire chief from Bedford Township and a mother of four from Lambertville died in a multiple-car crash on Wednesday afternoon. The man is in critical condition and his wife is in stable condition, police said. Her four children were transported to the hospital and listed in stable condition, officials said. The driver of the third vehicle, a 61-year-old man from Lambertville, was transported to the hospital and listed in stable condition. Officials say it is unknown if excessive speed, alcohol or intoxicating substances were a factor in the crash.

DETROIT Two police officers were injured in a car crash on Friday night in Detroit. According to police at around 9:20 p.m. a white Nissan Pathfinder allegedly disregarded a stop sign at West Chicago and Braile Street, striking a scout car traveling east on West Chicago. Officials say the scout car lost control, hit a tree and caught fire. The unknown driver of the Nissan continued north on Braile Street, officials said. ERIE TOWNSHIP, Mich. Three people were killed when the car they were traveling in spun out of control and rolled in the median of an Interstate 75 construction zone in southeastern Michigan, police said. The car went out of control for unknown reasons Friday night in Erie Township, rolled, came to rest in a ramp and then was struck by a second vehicle, police told the Monroe News. Two of the three victims were ejected from the car while the third remained inside, police said. DETROIT A man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Detroit has been found and arrested after nearly a year in hiding. On July 28, 2019, 31-year-old Herman Walters was riding a motorcycle when a high-speed driver slammed into him on the southbound Southfield Service Drive near Schoolcraft Street. Walters, also known as Rocky, died at the hospital following the incident. WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. A 64-year-old woman was struck and killed by a moving vehicle in Whiteford Township on Wednesday, police say. The Monroe County Sheriffs Office says the woman, from Long Beach, New York, was walking south in the southbound travel lane on Clark Road south of Yankee Road around 4 a.m. when she was struck by a blue 2016 Ford F-150 also traveling southbound. Officials say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say it is unclear why the woman was walking in the road. DETROIT – A 3-vehicle-collision on Detroit’s west side sent two children to the hospital in critical condition Sunday. Police aren’t sure who is responsible yet, but they are looking for a man and woman who were driving a white Chevrolet Corvette who fled from the scene on foot. Police said a red Dodge had a mother, father and their two children inside. The father sustained minor injuries, but the mother and two children were rushed to hospital. The mother is expected to be OK.A 54-year-old man was the only occupant of the third vehicle.

WILSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal single-car crash that occurred in Wilson Township on Tuesday afternoon. Police say at around 3:43 p.m. a 16-year-old boy lost control of a 2007 Kia Sorento in a series of small hits while driving westbound on Taylor Hawks Road near Rogers Road. The vehicle overturned multiple times and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A person riding a motorcycle was killed after colliding with a vehicle in Shelby Township on Monday night. Shelby Township police say that around 10:51 p.m. the 37-year-old from Roseville was traveling northbound on Schoenherr Road on a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle when they collided with a 2015 Cadillac SRX traveling southbound on Schoenherr Road and making a left turn onto Greenville Drive. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Officials say alcohol did not appear to be a factor. RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. Michigan State Police are investigating a car crash that killed a 4-year-old boy on Saturday afternoon. The mans 4-year-old son was in a booster seat and wearing a seatbelt in the backseat of the passenger side of the Nissan, officials said. Troopers say the boy was unresponsive at the scene and was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The boys father and the 37-year-old Maybee woman driving the Jeep were also transported to the hospital and treated for their injuries, officials said. No additional details were provided regarding the cause of the crash.

DETROIT Police are investigating the cause of a six-car crash on I-75. A 6-month-old girl has been hospitalized with a fractured skull due to the crash, according to police. The crash happened at 5:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the Clay exit in Detroit. The girl was taken to Childrens Hospital and is in critical condition.

According to police, the victim was changing a flat tire on the right shoulder of I-696 west of Dequindre Road when a vehicle struck them around midnight. The vehicle -- possibly a 2000-07 Ford Focus -- fled the scene, police said. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. DETROIT A man was hit by a vehicle while riding a moped in Detroit on Friday night. Police say the man was traveling south on Military Street on his moped around 10:15 p.m. when the driver of a dark colored sedan traveling west on Linsdale Street struck him. Medics responded to the incident and pronounced the victim deceased, officials said. There is not a description of the driver or their vehicle at this time. HARPER WOODS, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation said that westbound I-94 near the Allard Avenue exit was closed due to a crash. The crash happened around 5 p.m. on Friday in the Harper Woods area. Traffic was being routed off at the Allard exit.
