Clawson's first annual restaurant week is allowing people to experience unique flavors

Fifteen months after the pandemic transformed Las Vegas from flamboyant spectacle to ghost town, Sin City is back.

CLAWSON, Mich. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been hard on restaurants -- but imagine trying to get a restaurant off the ground during the pandemic. Its been a longer journey than expected for a new restaurant in Clawson called Pumachug. The biggest hurdle ended up being how to open a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic. It was tough enough to do a massive remodel while keeping their career day jobs and then two months later COVID-19 hit. In addition to surveying the community for input on the menu, the owners made a point to build some Clawson history into the place.

The organization, called Threads for Success, is really helping young men across the Metro Detroit area. They are giving and showing them tools on how to be successful and this group of young men tell me theyre ready. Im going to Howard University to study in psychology in the pre-med track, said Maguel Ross. Im going to go to WC3 for my two years and Im going to be a Mechanical Engineer, said Brent Gibson.
