Southbound Gratiot Avenue was closed from Utica Road to Martin Road after the deadly crash. Investigators with Roseville police say that initial reports indicated the vehicle that caused the crash was traveling near 100 miles per hour, lost control and struck two other vehicles. Breaking: Horrible crash in Roseville on Gratiot near Utica. The 24-year-old woman, who police said was driving the speeding vehicle, was killed.

A 2-year-old child has died while in the care of a babysitter following an unreported accident that occurred on Sunday, police say. Officials say the child, their siblings and their babysitter were involved in a traffic incident over the weekend somewhere in Warren. The childs cause of death is currently unknown at this time. Roseville police say it is currently unclear if the unreported traffic crash contributed to the childs death. We will be seeking the highest appropriate charges if any in this tragic loss of a child, the Roseville Police Department said in a press release.

According to police, the officer was driving south on Gratiot Avenue when a Chevrolet pickup truck ran the red light at the crossover from northbound Gratiot to northbound Utica Road at about 8 p.m. The truck rolled onto its side after hitting the police cruiser, police said. Police said alcohol or drugs don’t appear to be factors in the crash. The pickup truck driver was not arrested.
