According to a news release, the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center was selected for its ability to inoculate a large population and store the vials at extremely cold temperatures. In compliance with Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, the Ann Arbor VAMC will start vaccinating veterans in long-term VA health care facilities and health care personnel. Like healthcare systems around the country, VA Ann Arbor will begin a limited-supply phase followed by a mass implementation phase once a large vaccine supply is available. “As more vaccine becomes available, eligible Veterans will be contacted directly to discuss specifics and set appointments to receive the vaccine.”

DETROIT – Officials with President Donald Trump’s campaign said they will continue to fight the 2020 General Election results with lawsuits. Michigan is the center of litigation from the Trump campaign, which filed a federal lawsuit in the western district of Michigan, despite the claims coming out of Michigan’s Wayne County. The lawsuit, filed Tuesday night, alleges -- without evidence -- there were widespread irregularities in Michigan’s election and ballot-counting process. Many of the claims are similar to a case that was dismissed by the state court of claims last week. Many of the claims are similar to other unfounded fraud claims from past elections.

WALLED LAKE, Mich. – Walled Lake Consolidated Schools has delayed its return to in-person learning following a security breach. According to a letter sent to parents, the district’s grading and scheduling systems, bus route creation software and other key systems were impacted. This targeted computer hack of Walled Lake Schools was impossible to anticipate and the timing could not have been worse.

DETROIT – Police Chief James Craig hosted the 4th annual Senior Cupid Ball Saturday at the Roostertail on Detroit’s east side. The Senior Cupid Ball started as an event for Detroit’s senior women, but has become so popular that senior men were invited for Saturday’s event. The event is to thank the seniors for supporting the Detroit Police Department and to show Detroit’s seniors how valuable they are to the community. “It was a way to bring out, initially, senior women who live alone -- or are alone -- and to let them know they are not forgotten,” Craig said. According to Craig, hundreds of seniors were turned away Saturday because the event reached capacity and that the Senior Cupid Ball will be ready for a much larger attendance.

When you are ready to make the bonbons, heat water until simmering in the bottom pan of a double boiler over high heat (see Tip). Remove one plate of cheese balls from the freezer. (Work quickly because it is important the the cheese balls remain frozen during this step.)

This year, as the holiday approached, I realized my idea of romance has changed drastically over the years. With marriage, romance is harder to come by. And now we have babies, which means more to clean and less time to share the love with each other. For my husband, romance is pretty basic. As long as I sneak a few to my husband, I think romance lives on in our house.
