A man has been charged with murder nearly two years after reportedly causing a car crash that killed a Detroit police dispatcher.

On Dec. 15, 2019, Vanessa Simmons was on her way to work as a Detroit Police Department dispatcher when a man got on the Lodge Freeway, driving the wrong way and plowed into her head-on. Nearly two years later, the man has yet to be charged.
