According to authorities, the Chikaming Township Fire Department were called to the fire at about 5:30 a.m.Fire crews were able to save two horses, two goats and some of the chickens, but some chickens, a peacock and four llamas -- including three babies -- were killed by the fire. “By the time we were able to do anything, it was so totally involved there was absolutely no way that anybody could go inside to try to get the other animals out,” said fire chief Mike Davidson. “It had too much of a head start on us.”The cause of the fire is under investigation, but authorities believe no foul play is involved.

A 11-year-old boy, unrelated to the other three, was hit, but survived after being airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He spent nearly a month in the hospital and is continuing to recover from his injuries, WNDU reported. Shepherd, 25, was also found guilty of criminal recklessness and of causing injury by passing a school bus that had its stop arm out, according to WNDU. It confirmed the conviction from a source with direct knowledge of the situation.

He ran a women's health facility in South Bend that included abortion clinics -- before his license was suspended in 2015, according to CNN affiliate WNDU. The remains were found Thursday at his home in Will County, Illinois, about 45 miles from Chicago, local media said. When detectives arrived at the address, they found the preserved fetal remains. The coroner's office took them and the family is cooperating fully with the investigation, the statement said.

He had made funeral arrangements at Brown Funeral Home in Niles, and after his passing, friends and neighbors worked with the funeral home to organize military honors for Wilson, WNDU reports. Without any blood relatives to honor him, word spread on social media to make sure his funeral was well attended -- and it worked. It's fantastic.We found out that this particular veteran does not have any family; and as color guard, we honor every veteran, said Petra Bernard of the Osceola American Legion Post 308.

(WNDU)Officials say skeletal remains of two children and three adults unearthed in southwestern Michigan may be those of early settlers of an area community. The recently unearthed remains in Sturgis have been collected are being evaluated by forensic anthropologists at Western Michigan University. Geoff Smith, the director of public safety for Sturgis, says research is ongoing to determine whether theres a connection to an old burial site. The remains were found along with what appeared to be hardware from a coffin during a retention pond excavation.
