A candlelight vigil was held for the family of WWJ News Anchor Jim Matthews, who was killed last week in his Chesterfield Township home.

Police are providing an update Monday afternoon on the attempted murder-suicide that left one person dead and three others injured last week in Macomb County.

A GoFundMe page was organized for the children of Jim Matthews, who was killed on Friday in his Chesterfield Township home, according to WWJ 950.

Jim Matthews, whose legal name was Jim Nicolai, was found murdered in his Chesterfield Township condo Friday. His 35-year-old girlfriend and mother of his two young children were in the home along with their ten-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter.

The man killed Friday in an attempted murder-suicide in Macomb County has been identified as WWJ anchor Jim Matthews.

Six of the state’s eight regions -- divided up in Whitmer’s reopening plan -- are in phase four, or “Improving.” Only the Upper Peninsula and the Traverse City Region are in phase five. Michigan hasn’t yet seen spikes as a result of reopening, though there have been some isolated outbreaks, such as 18 people who tested positive after visiting a bar in East Lansing.
