A woman jailed in Maine is facing extradition to the United Kingdom after victims say she ran numerous scams claiming be a psychic and Irish heiress.

Eleven years ago, Melvindale police hired their first female officer. Lockers were added to a bathroom to create a ladies’ locker room. It wasn’t meeting the needs of the three female officers who currently work with the department.

This month marks 37 years since a 22-year-old woman vanished and her son was found abandoned in an alley.

The race for mayor of Buffalo has four-term incumbent Byron Brown relying on a write-in campaign to fend off a challenge from newcomer India Walton.

The majority of Buffalo Democrats didn't vote in the primary race for mayor, and the four-term incumbent did little public campaigning.

DETROIT – A new exhibit at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit is celebrating the work of Black artists through books. “I love Black art. I love art books and my background is in art education,” said Asmaa Walton. “A large part of exhibit is inviting people to appreciate Black art.”Walton called the collection Black Art Library. The Black Art Library runs until April 18 at MOCAD with strict social distancing guidelines in place.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Isaiah Livers scored 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, Hunter Dickinson had his first career double-double, and Michigan beat Ball State 84-65 on Wednesday night. Franz Wagner added 14 points and Mike Smith scored 10 for Michigan (3-0). Dickinson made a layup to make it 34-14 with 5:39 left in the first half, but the Cardinals scored 19 of the last 25 first-half points. El-Amin hit a jumper early just 14 seconds after halftime to trim Ball State's deficit to 40-35, but Michigan scored the next six points and the Cardinals got no closer. Walton led Ball State (0-2) with 20 points.

WALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A construction worker was killed when a pickup truck struck him Thursday afternoon along Sherwood Highway over I-69 in Walton Township. Michigan State Police said the 40-year-old road worker, of Gladwin, Mich., was working on the road when a full-sized pickup truck hit him. Police do not consider alcohol and/or drugs to be a factor in the crash. The highway was shut down Thursday afternoon while police investigated.
